Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar today convened a meeting with the representatives of various NGO's to discuss the modalities for operationalizing CHILDLINE services in the district.Senior Programme Coordinator Shaju Verghise and Programme Co-ordinator Childline India Foundation, Manjari Singh gave a detailed presentation about functioning, activities and childline helpline services.Verghise while giving a detailed presentation informed that the whole country is divided into 4 Zones i.e North, South, East and West Zones and North zone covers nine northern states including J&K and childline helpline receives about 2.5 million calls every year. He further informed that Reasi would be the 6th district in the state to have 1098 CHILDLINE service.Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of childline India foundation and its decision to establish childline services in Reasi district and assured them of all possible assistance in this regard.Dr. Pritam Lal Thapa District Social Welfare Officer was also present on the occasion.
