Indian DTH is still generating solid growth. Videocon d2h added a net 590,000 new subscribers during its Q4 (gross subs grew 790,000).

The growth takes Videocon d2h’s total to 11.86 million subscribers. Monthly churn is also down, to 0.58 per cent (from 0.73 per cent in the previous quarter).

Q3 revenues grew 22 per cent, with ARPU growing 5.9 per cent from Rs 202 to Rs 214. Overall ARPU for fiscal 2015 was Rs 207.

Videocon d2h executive chairman Saurabh Dhoot said, “Fiscal 2016 has been a landmark year for Videocon d2h, as it was the first fiscal year after our NASDAQ listing, and it has been a great journey. I am delighted to share that our strong net subscriber additions, rising revenue realisation and operating leverage benefit resulted in 31.5 per cent adjusted EBITDA growth for fiscal 2016, in spite of increases in service tax rates and the implementation of a new ‘clean India initiative’ tax during the year.”
