About two dozen stalls have been created on the bank of Ganga to showcase the schemes and programmes of different departments of the central government.
VARANASI: The local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party organized a two-day event‘Kartavya path ke do varsh’ on Wednesday and Thursday to highlight the works done during two-year regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organizers remained busy in preparations on the first day at the Assi Ghat in PM’s parliamentary constituency.
On Wednesday only few BJP workers, along with labouers, were seen creating stalls and putting hordings at the Assi Ghat, where PM had launched Swachha Bharat Abhiyan in the city on November 8, 2014.
About two dozen stalls have been created on the bank of Ganga to showcase the schemes and programmes of different departments of the central government. However, almost all stalls were emplty till Wednesday afternoon. “The formal beginning of the event has been scheduled at 6pm,” said the BJP spokesperson of Kashi Kshetra Sanjay Bharadwaj.
Bharadwaj said that two Union ministers including minister of health and family welfare JP Nadda and minister of labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya will take part in the event on Thursday.
Besides exhibition of government’s achievements, the party has also planed to hold cultural programme to highlight the performance of Modi government. To apprise the people of government’s achievements, the party will also distribute booklets among them.
