ALLEN Christensen will proudly don Brisbane’s indigenous jumper when the Lions host Hawthorn at the Gabba on Saturday.
And he desperately wants every Brisbane player to have pride in their performance against the premiers.
The Lions have lost their past three games by a combined 218 points and face the unenviable task of playing a Hawks side hellbent on redemption after falling to Sydney last week.
“(The AFL’s Indigenous Round) is an important week for me and my family and I can’t wait to wear the jumper,’’ Christensen said.

“We can’t keep making excuses for the way we are going because it’s not good enough.
“The only thing we can do is keep working hard and keep trying to improve.
“It’s just about us as players keeping faith and executing Leppa’s game plan. We showed against Sydney that when we do things right, it works.
“We are excited about the challenge. You should want to play the good teams to test where you are at.’’
Brisbane’s indigenous jumper was designed by Emma MacNeill, the partner of Lions midfielder Mitch Robinson.
The Lions could welcome back Tom Rockliff (hamstring), Tom Cutler (shoulder), Rohan Bewick (groin) and Claye Beams (groin).
Midfielder Dayne Beams will undergo exploratory surgery on his knee on Thursday.
