The Airport police have arrested two M. Tech students from the city who sent two e-mails to Kempegowda International Airport claiming that they are part of the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s group and would hijack flights.

Based on the complaint filed by the KIAL, the Airport police tracked down Raghavendra, S. (26) and Hoysala (23), second semester M.Tech students of East West College on Magadi Road.

The duo had uploaded the photographs of three of their professors to avenge for the low marks awarded to them in the internal assessment last year. The accused said that the three professors always favoured the girls and awarded more marks to them, and neglected the duo, resulting in the latter securing less marks in the annual exams.

Enraged by this the duo decided to teach a lesson to the professors and created a fake e-mail ID from the college computer lab and sent a threat mail to the airport, uploading the photographs of the three professors, on March 22. The police first stepped up security and then termed it as hoax, but when the accused sent another mail on May 6, the police intensified the investigations and managed to track down the duo.
