Hospitals across Nashik district aim to bag state award

Nashik: Officials of the Nashik civil hospital said that they are putting in sincere efforts to win the Kayakalp award for the rural hospitals of Nashik.
Suresh Jagdale, district civil surgeon said, "We will be aiming for the first prize for our civil hospital as well as the rural hospitals in the district.Having worked towards getting the first prize for Satara civil hospital, now there is a fare idea about how things should be managed to win the award.
We have also set up teams of doctors to work on the different criteria"
Jagdale said that this time around they would also be attempting to get the Kayakalp award for the rural hospitals in Nashik.
Officials said that there were 14 rural hospitals in the district Medical superintendents of all the rural hospitals have been instructed to work on ensuring cleanliness and maintaining hygienic conditions in the hospitals, they would be concentrating on four to five rural hospitals and nominating them for the state level award. and Officials said that under the Kayakalp award the government's aim is to promote cleanliness, hygiene and infection control practices in public health care facilities and to award those which show outstanding work in in adhering to standard protocols of cleanliness and infection control.
The evaluation process for Kayakalp will be held in August. There are 250 criteria for evaluation that need to met. Teams have been formed to ensure that each standard protocol is adhered to.
