Gorakhpur: A clash been two groups left many people injured at Garaiya Mohan village in Taryasujan area of Kushinagar district on Monday evening. One of them died at BRD Medical College here on Tuesday. The clash broke out during campaign for Bihar gram panchayat elections. Many people from villages in Bihar have migrated to Uttar Pradesh and they also hold their names in the voter list at their native villages.

The clash occurred between gram pradhan candidate from Baitua village and husband of another candidate of the same village. The police booked Jai Narayan Yadav and seized his rifle and many two-wheelers and four-wheelers belonging to his supporters. The ninth round of gram panchayat elections in Bihar is on May 26. Many candidates visit villages situated in Sevarahi and Taryasujan police areas in Kushinagar for campaigning as scores of voters live in these villages.
On Monday evening, Jai Narayan yadav, gram pradhan candidate for Baitua village in West Champaran district of Bihar came to Gariya Mohan village Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh for electoral campaign.
At the same time, Nandlal Yadav, husband of another candidate from Baitua village, Kunti Devi, also reached the village. A clash broke out between the two groups and many people were injured during firing from both the sides. Nandlal succumbed to injuries at BRD Medical College. "The candidates had no permission for electoral campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Jai Narayan Yadav is under custody," SO Taryasujan Sanjay Rai said.
