Power supply to tahsildar's office cut, public suffer
Mysuru: Public services were affected at Nanjangud tahsildar's office on Tuesday as CESC disconnected power supply to the office following non-payment of electricity bills to the tune of Rs 84,000.
Power supply was stopped at 11am at the tahsildar's office as well as Atal Jana Snehi service centre. Public, mainly villagers, who had applied for various certificates including caste and income certificates, had to wait for long.
Dejected, most of them left the office empty handed.
Revenue authorities blamed the CESC for the inconvenience caused to the public arguing that it has asked the district administration to make the payment and the money is yet to be credited to the account of the tahsildar. CESC officials could have approached the authorities and waited for some time as it is a government department, they said.
After tahsildar Ramappa's intervention power supply was restored to the office by 5 pm.
