As many as 301 cadets of the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala will pass out from the institution on May 28 on completion of their training courses including B.Tech.
A press release by the INA here on Tuesday said that Chief of the Army Staff General Dalbir Singh would review the passing-out parade. The cadets being passed out include three from friendly foreign countries. In addition to the INA Course (INAC) B.Tech., the cadets being passed out include those who completed INAC M.Sc., Naval Orientation Course (extended) and the Naval Orientation Course (regular). The cadets include 25 women, and 19 of them would join the Indian Navy and six the Indian Coast Guard.
The parade would be witnessed by parents of the cadets and a number of outstation dignitaries. The INA has also invited National Cadet Corps cadets, students and teachers of local schools and colleges to witness the parade during the Commandants final review on May 25.
The INA’s four-year B.Tech. course is accredited by AICTE and is conducted under the aegis of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
As part of the events connected with the passing-out parade, cadets of the INAC would be awarded their B.Tech. degree by Prof. Ashish Nanda, Director, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmadabad, during the convocation ceremony on May 27.
