Pune: Two men riding a motorcycle beat up a tempo driver and hit him on his head with a paver block at Ramtekdi near Hadapsar on Monday around 2.40pm.
Pravin Manik Londhe (20) of Kunjirwadi in Haveli taluka was administered six stitches on his head. His condition is stable.
One of the suspects, Paresh Uday Mehta (18), from Mangalwar Peth, was overpowered by a policeman while his accomplice Kapil Rasdar Londhe (25) sped away.

According to police, Pravin Londhe was heading towards Pune from Kharadi via Pune-Solapur highway. When he tried to overtake the duo leisurely riding their bike, they did not give him way.
"When Londhe honked, the duo intercepted the tempo and dragged the driver out. They beat him up and Kapil Londhe picked up a paver block from the roadside and hit Pravin Londhe on his head," assistant police inspector Devidas Kungar from the Wanowrie police station said on Tuesday.
Blood oozed from Londhe's head and he was taken to Sassoon General Hospital where he was treated. He was discharged in the evening. He registered a complaint against the duo under the Indian Penal Code at night.
A policeman from the crime branch, who is an eyewitness, nabbed Mehta but his accomplice escaped. Mehta was handed over to the Wanowrie police.
The closed circuit television camera (CCTV) at Ramtekdi junction captured the images of the suspects who are painting labourers. Kungar said they were looking for Kapil Londhe. The cops are further studying the CCTV footage to get a better view of the sequence of events.
