JAMMU, May 24: Late Yasho Rajyalakshmi, wife of Dr Karan Singh, was today paid rich tributes on her 7th death anniversary.
The management, Principal and staff of Delhi Public School, Nagbani remembered Yasho Rajyalakshmi during a simple function, where a portrait of the Maharani was put up for offering floral tributes.
Paying tributes, Ajatshatru Singh, who is the Chairman/Trustee of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, said that she was deeply involved with the social welfare as then Chairperson of State Social Welfare Board and thereafter other activities such as women literacy and welfare work. She was also engaged in looking after mentally challenged children at Okhla in New Delhi, he recalled.
S S Sodhi, Director Delhi Public School, Nagbani, paid his homage and appreciated the social work of Yasho Rajyalakshmi for the weaker sections of the society.
Ritu Singh, who is the trustee of the school, along with Adishree Singh and Ranvijay Singh, grand-daughter and grandson of the Maharani, also paid rich tributes.
For paying tributes to Yasho Rajyalakshi, J&K Dharmarth Trust also organized a function at Natraj ji temple where special Pooja was held for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Speaking on the occasion, president of the Dharmarth Trust, B R Kundal threw light on the life and services of Yasho Rajyalakshmi for the society, particularly during the transformation of the State from feudalism to democracy.
Secretary Dharmarth Trust, Shashi Khajuria, staff members and Pujaris of the Trust besides devotees, were also present on the occasion.
