Man held for attacking teenager

VASCO: A 45-year-old man, Manoj Giri, was arrested by Verna police for outraging the modesty of a 16-year-old girl. Police said the accused allegedly attacked the minor during a scuffle he was having with her mother.
As per the complaint, Giri, a painter by profession, visited the minor’s rented house in Zuarinagar, Vasco, on Tuesday and began an argument with her mother over a personal issue. When the teenager, who is in the state on vacation, tried to intervene, Giri allegedly slapped her.
The girl’s mother subsequently lodged a complaint with the Verna police. Giri was arrested soon after.
