The Gatorade state baseball players of the year were announced Tuesday and a trio of local seniors completed a clean sweep for locals in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

In Maryland, Spalding senior pitcher Tyler Blohm earned the honor thanks to stellar season on the mound. The Cavaliers’ ace went 9-0 with a 0.71 ERA and 91 strikeouts. He has also held opposing batters to a .133 batting average, sparking the Cavaliers to a 26-4 record and a berth in Tuesday’s MIAA A championship where they will vie for their third straight title.

On the heels of a notable summer that included an appearance in the Perfect Game All-American Classic, Khalil Lee was named Virginia’s player of the year. The Flint Hill senior did a little bit of everything for the MAC regular-season champions, batting .471 with six home runs, 37 runs and 23 RBI at the plate and going 7-0 with a 0.33 ERA, 87 strikeouts and two saves on the mound. Lee, who will play at Liberty next season, was also named VISAA Division I player of the year this week for his stellar season.

St. John’s pitcher Cam Remalia, another senior with a strong arm, earned recognition in D.C. The all-conference righty boasted a record of 6-1 with a 0.79 ERA and 53 strikeouts, key stats in the Cadets’ run to a third straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title.
