LDF will ensure end of corruption: V S Sunilkumar

Mr Moideen, who won from Kunnamkulam, said that the alleged corruption in the Consumerfed in the past five years needed to be probed.

THRISSUR: The LDF, which had fought the assembly elections on the plank of allegations of corruption against the UDF government, would be digging deep into to all such claims including controversial land deals Consumerfed scam. Ministers-designate V. S. Sunil Kumar (CPI) and A. C. Moideen (CPM) have made it clear that the LDF government would leave no stone unturned on the corruption charges against ministers in the Oommen Chandy cabinet.

“The land mafia will be dealt with sternly. All the controversial orders on land allotments or relaxation of norms for reclamation of Methran Kayal at Kumarakom and paddy fields associated with Santosh Madhavan in Kodungallur will be inquired into,” Mr Kumar said.

“Not only land deals, but all the alleged scams of the UDF government would also be looked into in detail. There will be no vendetta. It is to put an end to all corrupt practices. Some of the controversial orders of the last cabinet meeting of the UDF government had been withdrawn, but we want to know who were behind the government issuing such orders.”

Mr Moideen, who won from Kunnamkulam, said that the alleged corruption in the Consumerfed in the past five years needed to be probed. “Though we do not hold anything against former co-operation minister C. N. Balakrishnan, it is important to examine reports and complaints about the functioning of Consumerfed, which was set up to provide foodgrains and other essential commodities to the common lot at nominal rates,” he said.
