Chip the Buffalo -- Colorado’s “costumed” mascot was feeling a bit, we’ll say, chippy on Monday. And new California quarterback Davis Webb, a graduate transfer from Texas Tech, was his target.  First, he made punny about Webb, who had originally committed to Colorado in January before announcing last week that he’s headed to Cal instead. (According to a school spokesman, the Twitter handle is an official school account.)
Then responding to a tweet from the Pac-12 Network, Chip revealed what he believes is the real reason why Webb broke his non-binding agreement to come to Boulder. In a statement last week, Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre said they have already moved on and are happy with their quarterbacks. Ralphie, Colorado’s non-costumed mascot, was not immediately available for comment.
