Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) has decided to construct a new waiting complex for footpath pilgrims. This will be similar to the waiting complex created exclusively for Rs 300 special entry darshan pilgrims. The TTD will soon identify site for construction of the complex for pedestrian pilgrims.
TTD executive officer D Sambasava Rao on Tuesday instructed TTD engineering officials to work out the modalities for construction of the complex.
It will be a multi-purpose complex with luggage counters, potable water, and luggage scanning facility.
He said 'Potu' (kitchen) officials should follow transparent methods in the usage of ghee for preparing laddus. He also instructed engineering officials to lay a pipeline for ghee supply to improve transparency. The TTD will introduce a computer-based application to rationalise room blocking system. It will also take up sandalwood plantation in 88 hectares.
