Anne Hathaway wore a dress fit for Wonderland to the 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' premiere

Vertical black-and-beige stripes covered in floral appliqués would typically make a dress fit a mad house. Meaning we don't expect to see it in our office anytime soon but it's a perfectly kooky combination for the premiere of a visually over-the-top film like Alice Through the Looking Glass.

She has that new mom glow.

Anne Hathaway was striking on the red carpet Monday night in Hollywood, wearing a custom Christopher Kane dress that featured blue and pink roses -- none painted red -- that looked like they were climbing up her fitted corset. She paired it with Christian Louboutin shoes, Chanel jewels and an air of confidence that is surely a result of her newborn baby, Johnny.

The new mom talked about the sense of confidence she's gained and her first major outing since giving birth only 8 weeks ago on Ellen.

"You should have seen me arrive. I'm like in my sweats and hair out to here, I've got the kid under one arm, like there's a dress right? There's grooming? Oh thank goodness." Cue the fairy godmothers known as hair and makeup.

She's also been to the gym, "three times!" she exclaimed (like us when anyone asks how often we've been in the last two months).

“I work out in West Hollywood, so you see, like, Thor’s trainer — you know, the people who have too many muscles to be in The Avengers — so I would normally walk in and feel so intimidated,” she says. “But [now] I walk in, I’m like, ‘Yeah I work out with 5 lb. weights, but I pushed a baby out of my body, I feel good right now.’ ”

It's a boy! Anne Hathaway welcomes new baby
