The Buganda Kingdom Premier Charles Peter Mayiga has urged Baganda and Ugandans living in the Nordic states (Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland) to transfer back home their skills, knowledge and experiences for the development of Uganda.
Speaking at a gathering in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Katikkiro also commended the contributions by the Ugandans in the area towards the construction of the Kasubi tombs.

A delegation that included Buganda princess Omumbejja Joan Nassolo, Kampala city tycoon Mutaasa Kafeero, Chief of Protocol for Buganda Kingdom Mr David Ntege arrived in Copenhagen on May 19 (Friday) and were hosted by head of Uganda Mission to Nordic countries Mr Zaake Wanume Kibedi.

Princess Joan Nassolo read the Kabaka's message to the gathering that called for patriotism, hard work and development.
On his part, Mr Kibedi commended the Katikiro for leading campaigns of uniting people and urging them to work within Buganda and abroad. He also encouraged Ugandans in the Nordics to work closely with the mission in promoting commercial diplomacy as “it will create more opportunities for our country.”

The Uganda head of mission to Nordic states H.E Zaake Wanume Kibedi (Right) welcomes the Buganda delegation shortly before the event.

"Katikiro, I would like to commend you for the great work you are doing of uniting and encouraging people to work hard within and outside Buganda. When someone inspires others to dream more, learn more, work more, and become more is a true leader and you fall in this category,” Mr Kibeedi said.

“To Ugandans in the Nordics, God gave you a gift of life which you have to make the best out of it. Ups and downs in life are lessons that help someone become better. Trying is what makes results into success. Trying and failing is falling to pick up something but failing to try makes one a failure forever. It's great to have Mutasa Kafero amongst us today because he is an example of someone that started from scratch to a billionaire. So please take back home whatever you can pick up from here, be it knowledge, skills or capital, to contribute to the development of our mother land,” he added.
