Following decades of planning, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's nonstop express train from Worcester to Boston finally made its inaugural run.A normal trip from Worcester to Boston's South Station takes more than 90 minutes and makes 16 stops, but the new HeartToHub service makes the trip in less than an hour.About 300 passengers made the initial run along with Secretary of Transportation Stephanie Pollack, Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty, MBTA chief administrator Brian Shortsleeve and a host of other politicians and transportation officials.Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito says the train service will help promote Worcester as a "viable option" for young people as well as bring in potential jobs and opportunities to the city.Worcester Polytechnic Institute President Laurie Leshin referred to the HeartToHub service as a "talent train."Get the WCVB News App
