Fresh information revealed by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities, suggests that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be arriving with overhaul improvements. However, instead of launching the MacBook Pro 2016 in the next month, Apple is now rumoured to launch it in the last quarter of this year.

According to Kuo, the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 will sport the “most significant upgrade ever undertaken by Apple.” As it was rumoured before, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be available in two screen sizes of 13 inches and 15 inches. Its design will be inspired from the 12-inch MacBook and it will be slimmer and lighter than the predecessor models, Mac Rumors reported.

In order to release the upcoming MacBook Pro models with thinner design, Apple is speculated to introduce a new hinge design, built by metal injection molding. According to Digitimes, Amphenol, the company that supplies a special kind of hinge for Surface tablets, will be building the new hinge for MacBook Pro 2016.

Apple is also expected to add Touch ID fingerprint reader to the MacBook Pro 2016. The engineers at Apple are speculated to be devising a way through which users can unlock their Macs by using the iPhone’s Touch ID sensor. Kuo added that the physical buttons for function keys on the keyboard will be replaced by OLED display touch bar.

The refreshed MacBook Pro 2016 will also feature USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3. It is speculated to be powered by Intel Skylake processors. The higher configuration variant of the device is speculated to include 400-seris Polaris graphics chips by AMD.

Kuo has also speculated that Apple will slot the MacBook Air as entry-level device whereas the MacBook model will become a medium-level product. The MacBook Pro will continue to sell as an advanced notebook. Previous speculations had suggested that Apple would unveil MacBook Pro 2016 at the WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) in June. However, Kuo has claimed that the MacBook Pro 2016 release date is set in Q4 2016.
