Trainer Owen Burrows is looking forward to a tilt at the King Edward VII Stakes with his promising colt Muntazah.

A high-class juvenile last season, the three-year-old made an encouraging start to the new campaign when fourth in the Dante Stakes at York and he is now bound for Royal Ascot.

"I was chuffed to bits with his run in the Dante, especially as things didn't really go his way," said Burrows.

"He was keen enough and didn't have the smoothest of passages. I wouldn't say it made the difference between winning and losing, but he should have been a good bit closer.

"We've been happy with him since and the plan is to go to Ascot for the King Edward."

The Lambourn-based trainer had less positive news about Mustajeer.

The Medicean colt was runner-up in the Feilden Stakes on his seasonal debut, but is now sidelined by injury.

Burrows said: "Unfortunately Mustajeer has a problem and you won't be seeing him for a while.

"It's disappointing, but it's part and parcel of the game we're in. He won't be back until later in the year.

"I think he's shown enough to suggest he would stay in training as a four-year-old, but we still have time to get him back on track this season."
