AKARTA: Actress Marcella Zalianty says she admired the performance of piano prodigy Joey Alexander during his concert in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

“Definitely. I was impressed [by his performance] and I am so thrilled,” the 36-year-old said after the concert on Sunday.

Marcella told kompas.com she really enjoyed seeing Joey live on stage. Joey’s achievements as an Indonesian musician representing the country in the global music industry has also made her proud.

“He is an inspiration. I love jazz. But for me, tonight was amazing,” Marcella said. “He is a gifted child.”

During his concert, Joey appeared on stage with bass player Dan Chmielinski and drummer Heff “Tain” Watts. He also collaborated with Indonesian musicians, singer Dira Sugandi and bassist Barry Likumahuwa. — JP
