Motorists had a harrowing time as the traffic slowed down on the arterial roads, including roads leading to adjoining areas of Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad. According to the police, a motorist died and two others got injured after a huge signboard collapsed and crushed a motorcycle and a car.

According to traffic police officials, major traffic snarls were reported from Sardar Patel Marg, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi cantonment, Mahipalpur-Badarpur road, Ring Road, IIT-flyover, South extension, Ashram crossing in south Delhi. Commuters going to the the airport were stuck in heavy traffic.Police officers say that there was heavy traffic on Outer Ring Road as peak hour commuters tried taking detours to reach their destinations. Additional personnel were deployed to control traffic movement.
