Vyapam: CBI mulls legal action against STF official

(320) Baghel Under Scanner After Complaints
Vyapam: CBI mulls legal action against STF official
Bhopal: Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) D S Baghel, who was STF's key investigator in the Vyapam scam is giving a tough time to CBI.
Sources say Baghel, who is currently posted in Betul district, is avoiding investigating agency's calls for personal appearance. The central agency is planning to take a legal course against the officer for his non-cooperation, it's alleged.
The CBI has received many complaints against the DSP.
When contacted, Baghel confirmed that he has received CBI notice. "I am busy with Godadongri by-poll. Officers are not allowing to leave district headquarters until polling is over," he told TOI over phone.
It is alleged that the state government has posted Baghel out of Bhopal despite objections from the CBI.
Before his transfer, Baghel had approached MPHC-appointed SIT claiming that his life was in danger. Baghel alleged that he had received specific inputs through his sources in prison that scam accused behind bars were conspiring to take revenge. Relatives of senior police officers, bureaucrats and politicians are among those arrested by Baghel and his team.
SIT has forwarded the matter to the HC for further action. The officer is under scanner following a petition moved by a city-based builder, who had raised questions over credibility of STF investigations.
He alleged that he was implicated by the agency under the influence of Chirayu Health and Medicare Private Limited managing director over an old rivalry.
