Mamlatdar arrested for taking bribe

Palanpur: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested mamlatdar of Himmatnagar HK Gadhvi for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh.
Gadhvi had demanded Rs five lakh from Jheena Patel, a resident of Kankrol village, to get his name entered as the land owner in the revenue records. However, after bargaining the deal was fixed for Rs 1.5 lakh, ACB sources said.
On May 21, Patel approached the ACB, Sabarkantha, and lodged a complaint against Gadhvi.
ACB laid a trap and arrested him.
ACB inspector SP Kahar said that the bribe money was received by deputy mamlatdar Girish Parmar on Gadhvi's behalf. "However, he got the numbered notes changed at a petrol pump. We have recovered the original notes," said Kahar.
Parmar and revenue clerk Hiren Patel are on the run.
