Rajkot: A 33-year-old woman strangled her two children and hanged them before ending her life in Leriya village of Visavadar taluka in Junagadh on Sunday late night over harassment by husband and in-laws. Police have booked woman's husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law for domestic violence and abetting her suicide.
The deceased woman, identified as Chandrika Vaghashiya (33), was found hanging from the ceiling of her house along with her children - son Jenish (12) and daughter Dharvi (4).

The incident came to light on Sunday late evening when one of the family members came home and saw Chandrika and the two children hanging.
Chandrika's brother Haresh Pansuriya lodged complaint of abatement of suicide against her husband Paresh Vaghashiya, father-in-law Punabhai Vaghashiya and mother-in-law Manjulaben Vaghashiya. "We have booked the accused under section 306 (abatement of suicide) and sections of Domestic Violence Act, 2005," KV Chandpa, police inspector, Visavadar Police station, told TOI.
"The bodies of the deceased have been sent for forensic postmortem to Jamnagar Medical College to ascertain the exact cause of their deaths. Primarily, it seems that Chandrika strangled her two children and then committed suicide," Chandpa added. Haresh has alleged that Chandrika was subjected to mental harassment over petty domestic issues by her husband and in-laws.
