Four killed in accident

Three members of a family and a car driver were killed on the spot after the car they were travelling hit the rear side of a multiple-axle vehicle in Attur here on Monday.

Sai Surya (45), of Bengaluru, was a merchant involved in sale of saris.

He along with his wife Sudha Mani (40), and son Dhanush (20) came to Salem and purchased saris.

They were on their way to Kumbakonam from Salem when the accident took place.

The car was driven by Sivanandam (30) of Bengaluru. While nearing Attur Bypass on the Salem – Ulundurpet National Highway, their car hit the rear side of the lorry. In the impact, all the four died on the spot.

Their bodies were taken to Government Hospital in Attur. The Attur police are investigating.

The police said that their native place and their purpose of visit to Kumbakonam are yet to be known as all the four were dead.
