Three poachers held in Barmer

The incident of poaching two Chinkaras by three poachers near Hira Ki Dhani area under Gida police station on late Sunday night prompted the villagers to beat the culprits.

Jaisalmer: The incident of poaching two Chinkaras by three poachers near Hira Ki Dhani area under Gida police station on late Sunday night prompted the villagers to beat the culprits. After being informed, police reached the spot and took the carcasses of the Chinkaras and buried them on Monday after autopsy.
On getting the information, villagers caught Kheeyaram, Swarooparam and Chaganaram, resident of Manasar in Phalsoon and beat them badly.
They recovered two dead Chinkaras along with gun, knife which could have been used to remove skin. Later police reached the spot and arrested the trio. The case is still being investigated.
Sources placed in police said that forest department ranger, animal husbandry department officials and police were present during the burial of the Chinkaras. The guns recovered from te poachers don't have any license, police said.
Poachers told police that for long they are in the business of poaching deer and selling meats in many places of Barmer. They have confessed to killing large number of deer. Vishnoi tiger force workers reached the spot and condemned the poaching.
