In 2006 when Kota Tinggi in Johor was devastated by floods, Care United Johor Bahru received calls from the public inquiring how they could help flood victims.

Formed a year earlier on Aug 19, 2005, Care United Johor Bahru president Florence Goh organised two lorries to park at the then Makro in Johor Baru and told donors to send their donations to the trucks. Within hours, both trucks were full and made their way to Kota Tinggi.
