Dabolim will stay with MGP: Dhavalikar
Panaji/Ponda:MGP on Monday announced that if their alliance with the BJP continued then the Dabolim seat would remain with them. This may make if difficult for the Dabolim Congress MLA Mauvin Godinho to get the BJP ticket from the constituency.
MGP president and factories and boilers minister Pandurang Dhavalikar alias Deepak told TOI, “I don’t understand how Godinho is stating that he will contest the Dabolim seat on the BJP ticket when he is in the Congress,” he added questioning if Godinho had bought the BJP the manner in which he is making such claims.

“When he is in the Congress how will BJP will give him a ticket,” he questioned. “What will the people of the state think of him,” he further questioned, stating that if at all the BJP gave him a ticket they would field him from some other constituency.
Referring the Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane’s joining the Congress, Dhavalikar advised Godinho to quit the Congress and join the BJP. “If Godinho is interested in becoming a part of the BJP-MGP alliance then he should resign and contest on the BJP ticket, why should he wait till 2017?”
Godinho on Saturday had announced that he would quit the Congress and contest the next assembly elections on the BJP ticket from Dabolim.
When asked if the Dabolim seat is given to coalition partner MGP, Godinho had said that political situations are always dynamic adding that during seat sharing BJP will get Dabolim and MGP will get a seat somewhere else.
