Four men who have been charged with possession of illicit drugs appeared yesterday at the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

Veveni Loganimoce, Durgesh Krishna, Shivneel William Mudaliar and Rishikesh Warana Gounder appeared before Magistrate Margaret Mua.

The four have been charged with one count of possession of illicit drugs.

Police prosecutor Temesi Evo said on November 10 last year in Nabua, they were found in possession of 187.5 grammes of leaves believed to be Indian hemp or illicit drugs.

Magistrate Mua extended the bail for the four accused. He ordered Krishna, Mudaliar and Gounder to report at the Nadi Police Station on Saturday, May 28, after their defence lawyers Kelly Mainaceva and Krishleen Chetty brought to the court’s attention that they had a cultural prayer to attend in Nadi.

Magistrate Mua said that the rest of the bail conditions still applied for the accused.

The court has been adjourned to July 18 to fix a hearing date.
