Hyderabad: Amberpet police have arrested eight persons, including AIMIM activist Syed Shafiullah, in the murder case of his step son-in-law. Among the accused are Shafiulah's wife and his step-daughter.
The victim, Md Ismail, 37, was a fruit juice shop owner from Bapu Nagar in Amberpet. On May 13, he was stabbed and strangled to death in a car at an isolated place in Amberpet by Shafiullah and his associate Sk Hameed Pasha.
The body was later taken to the outskirts of Tatiparthi village in Mahbubnagar district by Shafiullah's associates Hameed, Arif, Abed, Maqdoom and Zaid in a car.
"The accused set ablaze the body at an isolated place and returned to the city. The charred remains were found by the local police of Mahbubnagar and they registered a case of murder," deputy commissioner of police (DCP), East Zone, V Ravinder said.
Alerted by the Mahbubnagar police, Amberpet police had identified the body with the help of Ismail's family members and subsequent probe has revealed the murder plot hatched and executed by Shafiullah with the help of his second wife, Fareeda Begum, 43, and her daughter Sameena Begum, 25, who was the wife of the victim.The DCP said that the culprit hatched a plan to eliminate the victim as he was frequently picking up fights with Shafiullah for interfering in his family matters. The accused also allegedly was intimate with the victim's wife.
Police arrested the eight accused on Monday and seized a knife, three cell phones, including the phone of the deceased, and a WagonR car from the the culprits.
