Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani today said he has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to facilitate a Gujarat government delegation’s application for issuance of Paksitan visa by taking up the matter with the neighbouring country.
The four-member delegation is to visit Karachi for monitoring repair of 22 seized Indian fishing boats so that they could be brought back to Gujarat.
Members of the delegation had applied for visa to the Pakistani High Commission on April 6, but they were yet to get the visas, Nathwani, an Independent MP, told PTI on phone.
This will delay retrieval of seized Indian fishing boats, he said, adding that he had written a letter to the PM in this regard.
The delegation, headed by M K Chaudhary, Deputy Fisheries Commissioner of Gujarat, previously visited Karachi for this purpose in March.
