Sixth former Mialaine crowned 2016 Kumang Entanggor

KUCHING: Mialaine Miang was named the 2016 Kumang Entanggor at the pre-Gawai dinner of Entanggor Sports and Recreation Club at the Christian Ecumenical Centre recently.

The 18-year-old lass from Kampung Lambir, Miri, who is a sixth former at SMK Muara Tuang, bagged RM3,000 in cash.

First runner-up went to Christy Tekot Swilten Salleh, 24, a flight stewardess from Sri Aman with a national airline company, who received RM2,000 cash while second runner-up was Marry Puspa Luju, 21, from Serian, who received RM 1,000.

The three winners were among 13 finalists of the Kumang Entanggor beauty pageant organised by the Entanggor Sport and Recreation Club as one of its annual programmes.

The other finalists – who all received certificates and a consolation prize of hampers – were Serry Alice Vester Util, 28, Easther Jawai Paul (19), Teresa Lai Ching Ik (21), Sandra Reba Julian (22), Fredonia Bajik Laman (28), Elizabeth Koni Johari (21), Rysheera Genut Ricky (24), Elisa Bunsie Robin (21), Christy Tan Bunan (21) and Darwinna Jadam (24).

A delighted Mialaine said she will use her prize money to purchase traditional costumes to add to her collection.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Buji personal secretary to Assistant Minister of Rural Economy (Coastal Areas) and Fisheries, Datuk Julaihi Narawi who won the Sebuyau constituency handsomely as a BN-PBB candidate , expressed their gratitude to the Sebuyau voters who kept faith with Barisan Nasional in the recent 11th state election.

Yusof also announced a grant of RM15,000 on behalf of Datuk Julaihi for Entanggor Sports and Recreation Club to fund its programmes.

Entanggor SRC chairman Peter Nangi and former Kumang Entanggor 2015, Lydia Desmond Bannga were present.
