Beneil Dariush Happy For Quick Return Following Loss to Michael Chiesa

– Beneil Dariush recently spoke with mmajunkie.com, here are the highlights…

On Taking a Fight at UFC 199: “Losing kind of picks at you. It was really hard to do anything but look for another fight. I can’t explain it. I was so tired (before that), and as soon as the fight happened and it went the way it did, I couldn’t sit down, I couldn’t sit at home, I couldn’t relax, so I had to get back in there.”

On Wanting The Fight ASAP: “I told (my manager) right after my last fight in the locker room, ‘Get me a fight.’ Rafael Cordeiro, my coach, agreed with it,” Dariush said. “We said we need a fight right away. We didn’t care where the fight was going to be – we wanted a fight right away.”

On The Loss to Chiesa: “It’s very similar (to the loss to Nijem),” Dariush said. “Obviously, I’m a little more mature, and the way I carry myself has to be a little different now. Back then, I’d shut myself in my room and just go to training. Now it’s a little different. But it’s the same feeling. I just have to carry myself differently. But I’m really happy I was able to get a fight quickly. I want to redeem myself.”
