Blackburn Rovers approach Man United U21 manager Warren Joyce

Manchester United have had an official approach from Blackburn Rovers to speak to under-21 manager Warren Joyce about the managerial vacancy at Ewood Park, the Daily Telegraph report.

Blackburn are seeking a new manager after Paul Lambert stepped down at the end of last season, with the team having finished 15th in the Championship.

A source close to Blackburn told ESPN FC there are several candidates who the club have on their list to speak to.

Joyce led United's U21s to the title for the third time in four seasons during this campaign. He also played a key role in nurturing several of the young talents who stepped into United's first team this season, such as striker Marcus Rashford.

Joyce joined the club to coach the reserves in 2008, having previously been a manager at Royal Antwerp and Hull City.
