KCR calls for preparation for Kharif season

Hyderabad,May 23 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao todayasked state officials to start preparations for the coming kharif season,though the summer was yet to end. Mr.Rao said that farmers should be encouraged to go in for crops other than cotton and soya bean seeds should be made available in abundant quantity besides other seeds which the farmers required. During a review meeting here, Mr.Rao said that steps should be taken for the timely provision of fertilizers.Works including laying of pipes for the supply of irrigation water should also be expedited. He said applications received for change of land use by farmers other than agriculture should be cleared at e-seva centres without loss of time.
He asked officials to make arrangements for the State Formation Day celebrations on June two on a grand scale by decorating and illuminating all government buildings and offices.The national flag should be hoisted in front of government offices heralding the celebrations and homage should be paid at the Telangana martyrs memorials in the state.
Mr.Rao suggested that special prayers should be offered in all places of worship. He said appointment letters should be handed over to provide jobs to a eligible member of each Telangana martyrs family during the celebrations. Mr.Rao said that 50 eminent persons from each district should be sent to attend themain celebrations to be conducted in Hyderabad. He also stressed that measures should be taken for implementation of welfare programmes including the "Kalyana Laxmi" scheme providing financial aidfor the marriage of girls from poor families.
