Tussle over Pondy CM post continues

Puducherry, May 23 (UNI) The suspense over the next Chief Minister of the Union territory of Puducherry continued with the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) failing to elect its leader even after five days of the announcement of the election results.
With former Union Minister V Narayansamy, former Chief Minister V Vaithilingam and PCC President A Namasivayam in the race for the post of the Chief Minister, the local unit itself could not reach a consensus resulting in the postponement of the CLP meeting here, announced by the PCC President.
AICC observers Gulam Nabi Azad and Mukil Wasnik are expected to reach here tomorrow to sort out things. It is learnt that Mr.Narayanasamy is pressing for the post as he has got the support of eight elected members. However, if he was made the Chief Minister, he will have to face elections in six months and win it, which may not be easy in the present situation.
There is no row at position 0.
