When Prince Albert of Monaco attended an exhibition of Cartier jewellery at the Grand Palais in Paris, he stopped in front of the case displaying a poodle brooch that had belonged to his mother, Princess Grace.
“He recalled with emotion his youth and how he used to play with the poodle on his mother’s lapel while he was in her arms,” says Pierre Rainero, Cartier’s heritage director. “As always in jewellery, there is a history behind each piece, but most importantly, there is also a strong underlying emotion.”
