The DMK leadership is yet to accept the resignation of K. Selvaraj, the party's district secretary (Tirupur North), from the post. He forwarded his resignation taking up moral responsibility for the party's debacle in the Assembly elections in four constituencies in the district. Mr. Selvaraj, the first Mayor of Tirupur and himself a candidate in Tirupur South constituency this time, was in charge of party’s campaign in Tirupur North, Tirupur South, Avinashi and Palladam Assembly constituencies.
