Kodiyeri blames BJP for violence across State

‘Aim is to create the impression that the State has plunged into anarchy’

Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has accused the BJP and RSS of having unleashed violence across the State to create the impression that Kerala has plunged into a state of anarchy with the LDF’s victory in the Assembly elections.

Mr. Balakrishnan told a news conference here on Sunday that the BJP-RSS activists had launched violent attacks on LDF activists, including the newly elected CPI legislator E. Chandrasekharan, and destroyed 25 houses and 12 party offices over the past two days.

A CPI(M) worker died at Pinarayi in Kannur when he was run over after bombs were thrown by RSS workers at a victory procession. Another worker was killed at Kalpakanchery by IUML activists. The CPI(M) was at the receiving end of attacks, but the BJP-RSS leadership was attempting to create the impression that it was fomenting violence, he said.
