Pedestrian dies in road accident

Vasco: A 45-year-old man died after being hit by a two-wheeler on the NH 17B on Saturday evening.
The Vasco police said that the accused was riding the two-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner.
At around 7.45pm on Saturday, the 25-year-old accused, a resident of Margao, Ramlagan Ramrang, was proceeding from Shantinagar to Margao. He was speeding on the highway when he hit a pedestrian Motilal Shankar Lamani, a resident of Shantinagar.
According to the police, Lamani was immediately shifted to Cottage hospital, Chicalim, where he was declared brought dead.
Ramrang escaped with minor injuries. He was arrested by the Vasco police on Sunday under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code.
