Microsoft feature phone prototype found in China; RM-1182 won't be coming to market
Now that Microsoft has sold its feature phone business to Foxconn along with the rights to the Nokia name, images of a feature phone prototype has surfaced in China. The device carries the Microsoft name on top, and a model number of RM-1182. With the business sold, this unit probably ends up on eBay, sold to the highest bidder and displayed as a conversation piece in some millionaire's home.

The RM-1182 supports 3G, has dual-SIM capabilities and a flash on back. It would seem odd that Microsoft would have considered putting its name on a new line of featurephones since it had the rights to the Nokia name until 2024. With the sale to Foxconn, it is all moot now.

You can check out some photos of the feature phone that won't be coming to market, by clicking on the slideshow below.
