Four train robbers arrested in Chandauli

Chandauli, May 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Government Railway Police(GRP) has arrested four persons at Mughalsarai Railway Station of Chandauli district for their alleged involvement in a series of robbery incidents on running trains.
GRP sources said here today that Ajit Gupta, Pradeep Kumar, Amarnath and Mithai have been arrested during inspection on platform no. 7 and 8. They are member of a gang involved in train robberies and chain snatching activities in trains. Police have also recovered 12 mobile phones, one tablet, a gun with cartridges and cash of Rs 10,500 from them.
Arrested Ajit Kumar told that members of their gang used to stop the trains near outer by failing signals and used to escape after performing their activities in between. They are active in the Allahabad, Buxer (at outer of Pawani kala halt), Ara, Jaunpur, Shahganj, Varanasi, Mughalsarai, Chunar and Varanasi city area. Sometimes they perform their robberies on trains going to Delhi from Bihar.
