Former E20 resident Maddy Hill has admitted that a return to EastEnders is a ‘possibility’.

Mads left her role as Nancy Carter earlier this year much to the dismay of EE fans. She left to see the world with boyfriend Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel).

But speaking on Sunday Brunch, the actress said that there’s every chance Nancy could return in the future.

Maddy also offered her thoughts on what Tam and Nancy are up to right now.

She said: “In my mind, we’re in Pakistan, we’ve got local jobs, paying our way and staying with Tamwar’s mum.”

There might not be an immediate return on the cards though as Maddy is enjoying her time away from the drama of Albert Square.

She added: “I miss the people desperately but the hours are mad and it’s nice to become yourself again, in terms of managing your own time and seeing friends.”

She’s also pretty busy with two Shakespeare projects on the go - A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Southwark Playhouse and the title role in Imogen at a reworking of Cymbeline - at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

Maddy said of A Midsummer Night’s Dream - which also stars Freddie Fox: “It’s a gag a minute. If you read a Shakespeare play and you see an innuendo, which you often do, we’ve picked up on it and magnified it. If you’re a bit freaked out by Shakespeare, this is the production for you.

“And also if you’re familiar with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, we’re doing it in a way that I’m almost certain hasn’t been done before.“
