Buddha Purnima was celebrated with joy across the district on Saturday. Several associations organised lectures, mass prayers and religious rituals as part of the celebrations.

She flagged off a procession in which folks artistes, including a troupe of women Dollu Kunita artistes, performed.

Several people participated in the celebrations at Anantha Pindaka Buddha Vihara in Rekulagi village, Humnabad taluk.

Celebrations were also held in Karuna Buddha Vihara in Bhalki, and Buddha Viharas in Anadur, Gornalli and other places in the district.
