Father-in-law ‘kills’ woman for not preparing breakfast

A 22-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her father-in-law for not preparing breakfast at Nunna on the city outskirts on Saturday.

The accused, J. Satyanarayana, killed his daughter-in-law, Sumathi, for nor serving breakfast, said Nunna Circle Inspector Sahera Begum.

Sumathi married Satyanarayana’s son, J. Shivaji, a year ago. He works at a petrol pump. On Saturday morning, Shivaji left for work and the accused asked her to serve him breakfast.

When she replied that breakfast was not prepared, he had an argument with the victim.

In a fit of rage, he strangled her with a towel killing her on the spot.

Case registered

Police registered a case under Section 302 of IPC and took up investigation. The accused is absconding, Ms. Sahera said.
