Sonu Gowda back to rocking on screen

Sonu Gowda, whose role in Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu has won her applause from critics and audiences alike, says she is excited about her next project. She plays the protagonist in Sharavathi Teeradalli. 'This is a very exciting role, since I get to portray many shades and my character goes through many transitions. I'd easily say this is one of the most challenging roles that I've essayed in my career till date and I am very satisfied that I was chosen for this film,' says Sonu.Directed by debutant director Puneeth, this film is being backed by politician CP Yogeshwar. Sonu is also delighted that her other film, Maarikondavaru, has won the State Award for the Second Best Film 2015-16. 'It is great that a film I've been a part of has won such accolades,' she says. The Inti Ninna Preetiya actress also made her stage debut recently. 'I've done films in Kannada and Tamil, but I was keen on a new experience. Theatre always fascinated me and I got a call from a team to be a part of their new play. Each staging so far has been an enriching experience and the rush and excitement on stage are way different from facing the camera,' says Sonu, talking about her play E = MC2.
