Twins make a habit of getting identical scores
Gurgaon: Twins are generally known to confuse people with their similar appearances, but Harshita and Ankita Chauhan — twin sisters from Gurgaon — are stumping people with their identical scores in the CBSE Class XII results and JEE Mains.
Both Harshita and Ankita scored 93% in their board exams and and 79 in their JEE Mains. "Our family members, especially our mom, couldn't believe it.
Mom took 10 minutes to believe that we have actually scored the same marks," said Ankita. She says she calculated their percentages multiple times to be doubly sure.
Both of them scored 95 in physics and physical education. In maths Ankita scored 87 while Harshita got 95. In English Ankita 87 and Harshita 95. In chemistry Ankita 95 and Harshita 93.
Talking about their academic performances over their years, the amazing sisters said they had never scored the same marks so far.
Harshita said she was always behind Ankita by almost 10%. "This time I worked really hard and it paid off," said Harshita. The sisters always studied together and helped each other. While Harshita helped Ankita with maths, Ankita helped her sister back with insights in physics. When it comes to their plans, the sisters share a love for computers and will study software engineering — from the same college. Both have got admission in SRM College, Chennai, and will head to the city soon. "We have always been together throughout our school days. For our higher studies also, our father wanted us to be together. Luckily, we managed to get seats in the same college and in the same stream," Harshita said. Their parents said they never saw it coming. "We expected them to get similar marks but not the identical scores. In Class XI, one had scored 93% and the other 86%," said R S Chauhan, father of the two. In life beyond academics, the sisters are poles apart. Ankita is always worried about studies, while Harshita knows how to wear life like a loose garment.
