Eamcet medical results out, Vizag girl comes seventh
Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu released Eamcet results for medical admissions at his camp office here on Saturday. While Kurnool girl Machani Hemalatha topped the exam, P Sailaja from Visakhapatnam stood seventh.
Hemalatha, who scored 156 out of 160 marks in the examination, met the CM at his office along with her parents and teachers.
Her father Machani Veeranna is a small-time employee in a textile shop while mother Kalavati is a homemaker in Kurnool town.
Hemalatha took coaching from a corporate college in the city in 2014-15 itself and got 245th rank. Yet she failed to qualify for the medical admission as she was under-aged. When her family conditions did not allow her to take coaching again and reappear the exam the ensuing year, a Nellore-based corporate college adopted her and prepared her for this year's Eamcet.
"Medicine is my dream and I have it realised it in spite of all odds", a beaming Hemalatha told mediapersons. Her eyes brimmed with joy when she was patted by the CM after the results were released. Over 1.03 lakh students appeared for the Eamcet medical stream held on April 29.
Meanwhile, the CM directed the authorities of the HRD department and private colleges to prepare the students for NEET from next year. He also told the HRD department to take measures for preparing the syllabi accordingly.
